US Work Visa O-2. Purpose:
For accompanying personnel arriving on an O-1 visa, that is:
managers, coaches of sports teams and individual athletes;
assistants in the filming of films and television programs.
This status does not apply to accompanying personnel in the field of science, business or education.
US Work Visa O-2. Advantages:
You can quickly get O-2 status;
You are free to travel within and outside the United States as long as you maintain O-2 status;
Your family can accompany you by applying for an O-3 visa.
US Work Visa O-2. Requirements and Documents
Requirements.
To be eligible for an O-2 visa, you must prove that you:
are an integral part of the actual work of your manager – an O-1 visa holder;
have all the unique skills and experience that other people do not have.To obtain an O-2 visa, you need to prove:
that you have a permanent residence in your country that you do not intend to give up;
that your work in the United States is temporary;
the work is associated only with your supervisor in the O-1 status, to whom you provide support.
The documents
You cannot apply for an O-2 visa on your own behalf. A US employer must sponsor your O-2 visa. He must submit a Work Visa Application (Form I-129), O and P Visa Supplement (Form I-129O / P) and other supporting documentation to the American Immigration Center (USCIS). Once USCIS gives the go-ahead, you can apply for an O-2 Visa at the American Consulate.
The application must be accompanied by the following documents:
a certificate confirming the uniqueness of your boss with an O-1 visa;
copies of any written contracts between the entrepreneur and yourself. If there is no written contract, then a detailed description of the verbal agreement under which you will be hired
an explanation of the nature of the events or actions, the start and end dates of the events, and a copy of any route for the events or actions;
written consultation of the respective consulting facility or facilities.
Your visa application must include the following documents:
Form DS-160 – Application for a Nonimmigrant Visa;
a copy of a passport that is valid for at least six months outside the period of stay in the United States and with at least one blank page;
two identical color photographs on a light background showing the entire face without head covering. You can wear a headdress if required by the religious community of which you are a member;
proof that you will return to your home country after the expiration of your visa;
a contract between you and your manager, describing in detail all the conditions of your cooperation;
agreement between you and the O-1; evidence of a previous professional relationship with the O-1; evidence that you are capable of assisting the O-1 visa holder;
US Work Visa O-2. duration of stay
You can stay in the United States on an O-2 Visa for the entire period necessary to help your supervisor, but not exceeding 3 years. You can come to the United States within 10 days before your work begins and must leave the states within 10 days after it ends. If necessary, you can extend the O-2 visa for 1 year.
Visa for family members of the O-2 visa holder
A spouse and / or children under the age of 21 who wish to accompany you to the United States during your stay can apply for an O-3 visa.
